Alumni Councils

Graduate/Alumni councils councils cooperate with other community service organizations in their localities toward the goal of bringing about positive programs of benefit to the area. Additionally, Graduate/Alumni councils work with undergraduate councils in their respective communities in order to assist those students with constructive efforts both in the community and on their campuses.

Graduate Council Management and Organizational Suggestions:

      Develop a yearly program to include projects and activities which enhance your community

      Provide advisors, assistance, and special activities for undergraduate councils in your area

      Formulate a Council Calendar, to include individual member organization activities and functions

      Become involved on a national level by sending delegates to the NPHC biennial National Convention and other national events

      Submit council news to be included in the NPHC newsletter

 

Suggested Activities and Projects:

Leadership and Awards Recognition/Reception – recognizing individuals who have excelled

Undergraduate Recognition - honoring undergraduate chapters with the highest Grade Point Average

Greek picnics, dances, luncheon, dinners, programs, etc.

Greek workshops - to educate members on council operations as well as NPHC requirements and expectations

Public Policy programs, Voter Education, Candidates Forum

Joint Community Service Projects -Health fairs/walks, Mentoring programs, Financial literacy, Habitat for Humanity
